1 Franc Signature “O. Roty”
Issued during the Fifth Republic (1958–date), this 1 Franc coin circulated between 1960 and 2001 under the New Franc currency system (1960–2001). Struck entirely in nickel, it represents France’s modern coinage era prior to the adoption of the Euro.
With its milled edge, coin alignment ↑↓, and classic round shape, the coin was widely used until it was demonetized on 17 February 2002. Today, it is a collectible piece of French monetary history, valued for its role in everyday commerce during the late 20th century.
