Description
This British India 1 Rupee coin was issued under King Edward VII (1901–1910) between 1903 and 1910. Struck in .917 silver, it represents one of the last high‑purity rupees before the reign of George V. With its milled edge, medal alignment, and classic round shape, this coin is a significant collectible from the early 20th century colonial era.
Demonetized after independence, it remains highly valued among numismatists for its silver content, rarity, and association with Edward VII’s short reign.
